The Task Connect is something like which add various of functions to the task sche...duler. However, the dimension is different from the task scheduler.
You can start the workflow by detecting down of host belonging to the group.
You can monitor any number because this feature utilize the regular access of the agent. So, there is no additional load. There is no direct communication between the host to be monitoring and the host to be monitored.
You can deploy easily. Just install the agent service and set the group name in the configuration file. Just create a workflow by using trigger of the alive monitoring on the side of the monitoring.
If the query to the Task Connect service is interrupted and the elapsed time is greater than to the specified since the last access, the down of host is detected.
It is serialized in JSON. The list of the last access date and time(UTC) and the downed host name for each group is stored in a user environment variable "TCGROUPMONJSON". When you run the script in the task connect, it can be referenced in the script.
